What are Peoples saying about this product:
People 1:
I like this popper very much. I looked at several types and chose this one because of the on/off switch. I am an invalid, and I wanted something I could have on my hospital bedside table, and having the button makes it easier for me than having to climb out and back into bed, which on some nights can be quite a chore. The first time I used it, it popped everything within a few minutes. I only used half the measuring cup and had 4 unpopped kernels. I did not use a big-name popcorn kernel, but the cheap Walmart brand. I know some people complained about having so many unpopped kernels. This might be due to old popcorn kernels that they have had for some time. I will next be looking to get some Mushroom popcorn kernels and try them out. I checked it out, and it can be used in the Dash. Just warm it up for a couple of minutes first, then put the kernels in.
People 2:
I had an air popper in my apartment years ago and used the heck out of it. That was in the 1980s. It traveled to friends’ houses for movie night and delivered good snacks every time. Eventually, it got left at one of the houses, and I never saw it again.
Fast-forward to a couple of weeks ago, when I was popping a batch the old-fashioned way, on the stove with an oily pot, burning some and leaving many other kernels unpopped. Heck, with this, it’s time to check the Zon to see what they have now.
I ordered this machine because it seemed to be the simplest and had made many people happy. I’m so glad, too.
To those who find unpopped kernels flying out when you start the machine, do this: Preheat the machine, cover it, and let it run for a minute or two. Then pour in the kernels (leave the cover on; there is always a chance of it getting warped), and you will have fewer, if any, escaped unpopped corn. I hope this works for you.
People 3:
I had never heard of Dash a couple of years ago, but now they are quickly becoming a favorite brand. My old wally world air popper started smoking, so I tossed it and went on a hunt for a new one. Sadly, the Dash air popper was not my first choice. I picked one with fancy advertising that Amazon pushed my way. I won’t go into that here, in case someone doesn’t carefully read, thinks I’m talking about this one. I have donated that one to a charity shop and have replaced it with this Dash air popper.
I was kind of worried about the short chute, but it is not a problem. The only real problem is trying to figure out how much popcorn to use so I only have to dirty one bowl. The measuring cup is kind of huge, and if I fill it, it makes too much for me. Oh, well, the chickens enjoy the overflow. With my old one, I would have had to make two batches to make what this one does in one.
Also, the clear plastic cover snaps into place. The others just sat in place. It makes it a little harder to fill with kernels but it only takes a moment to either remove the cover or reach in through the chute…or drop through the hole and ignore the few that don’t go into the hopper. I don’t melt butter, so I can’t speak to that feature.
It has a nice on/off toggle switch, an upgrade from my old one. I wish it were on the back or other side, as I find it easier to face it where I can toss escapees back in (not recommended as you will burn your fingers).
I guess what impresses me is how few old maids there are at the end of the day (old maid refers to the unpopped kernels—it’s an industry term, lol), and the reason Popper 2 is at goodwill. Of the 3 air poppers I have owned, this one is absolutely the best.
Drawbacks? Air poppers can be messy. It is common for popcorn to end up on the counter and floor, especially if a kernel pops after it’s in the bowl.
Bonus Tips: Get the Most Out of Your Popcorn Maker
- Use High-Quality Kernels: Larger kernels pop better and leave fewer unpopped pieces.
- Tilt the Machine: To reduce kernel spillage, tilt the machine slightly during popping.
- Experiment with Toppings: Try different seasonings, like cheese powder, cinnamon sugar, or nutritional yeast.
Conclusion: Popcorn-Making Made Easy!

It’s practical and versatile and just might make popcorn your new favorite snack. So go ahead—give your kitchen the upgrade it deserves and give yourself the gift of delicious, guilt-free popcorn.
